This was a well-researched, satisfying read that made me think and will stick with me for months. This is one of those books where its reflection will be seen everywhere after finishing it.

This the writing style and focus of Black Folk, to some extent, reminds me of Isabel Wilkerson's writing.  Excellent book - interesting, well-researched, important, telling.  Subject matter is frustrating but important to understand.  Author takes a micro and macro approach in a parallel way, very satisfying.

A very insightful, thoughtful study of black history is labor history, movement history, and family history. I learned so much from this book - especially about the importance of studying working class black folks to understanding American history.
