What a great ending to this series! There are several POV’s in this book and while it’s pretty long, the pacing is good. The relationships are really fleshed out in this one and the character development is *chefs kiss* I like how the author really spent some time with the post-war events and gave everyone a good wrap-up. I hate books with a huge climax that just drop off with no resolution. I really enjoyed this series and would recommend it to anyone who likes Throne of Glaaa, ACOTAR, or Blood and Ash.

It took me a while to get through, reading in segments the way I do throughout the work day (I almost never read at home anymore unless the book is really good). But this book was a fantastic finish to the Lady of Darkness series.

I finally finished the Lady of Darkness series! This series consists of five books and one novella total. I’d rate all of the five books as 4 ⭐️s and up with the very last book being my favorite!!

The author created a series similar to Throne of Glass yet distinctly different. One similarity that few authors achieve is creating side characters that readers are genuinely interested in. Too often fantasy authors skim over the side characters and fail to provide crucial development which falls flat after a few books in a series.

Furthermore, Scarlett’s character growth in this series is astronomical. Some other reviews criticize her for being immature in the beginning of the series. I think her being an immature 18 year old is vital to the story. In a few books, without giving anything away, she blossoms into her role in the Kingdom.

Overall, I highly recommend this series AND it’s on Kindle Unlimited!!
