Definitely a heartfelt contemporary romance that explores grief and fear. It’s not a light read, but it’s beautiful. Trope wise: forced proximity!

This is less of a romance and more of a character growth story--I would say the romance takes second place to the storyline of Jo trying to navigate her own grief and the grief of her nieces. However, I liked the flow of this book a lot better than Nina's book--without the time jumps, the story was much better paced and I really liked the character development.
