Nothing wrong with the book, I just wasn’t in the mood to finish it. So I’ll pick it up again next time

Oh my godness I didn't think I would love it this much. I loved seeing both perspectives of the fandom dynamics represented, the honesty in showing that parasocial relationships can be sometimes cruel and dehumanizing, but they can also create community if used correctly. It's also so refreshing to have a book about this topic with no romance involved, and with so much focus on friendship

OH MY GOD. Okay, I've said this before after reading Radio Silence, but this book cements it. Alice Oseman is my new favourite YA contemporary author. I like, want to be her friend and talk about all the weird but amazing book ideas we have together. Ugh.

Alice Oseman truly never miss!

It really is one of their best book! My fav are still Heartstopper and Loveless but this is a close third. I just loved it! All the characters all likeable and well defined. She really has a talent for crafting good characters and make them so relatable. I truly admire that.

And this book was such a celebration of passion, of loving something and dedicating yourself to it, even if it didn’t shy away from the uglier part of this.

Just, it’s soooo good!!

I find these books harder to read… partly because they’re so raw. these are real emotions felt by people all over, me included. these types of books are meant to make u sit in that uncomfy feeling for a minute and then it turns the mirror on u. Maybe i’ll be ready to reread this one day

brb suing miss alice for emotional damages because i’m BROKEN after reading this, what the actual fuck. i did not need my teenage self to be CALLED OUT so loudly, thank you very MUCH. this is such a beautiful love letter to fandom while also critiquing the less-savory parts of it (stalking, when infatuation turns into obsession, ect.) it’s just *so good*, y’all. anyway please read this if you’ve ever been in fandom, it’s literally perfect.
