I’ll give it 3.5 stars, even though that truly kills me. I loved this series but, this was not the ending it deserved. The plot was all over the place and I actually found myself confused at some points wondering, “Did I miss something?”. There were aspects I absolutely loved, but I would have appreciated an ending that felt resolved. It was too open ended to me. I will forever cherish the first few books of this series and even enjoyed the fourth and fifth, but sadly I feel that the series ending was incomplete.

The only reason I'm giving this a 3 star is that the series holds sentimental value as one of the first dystopian series that brought the joy of reading back into my life as an adult AND because Tahereh was the first Muslim author I read for.

I am disappointed. She should've combined Defy Me and Imagine Me into one longer book and saved us the time and effort of having to read two separate books. It felt like there were a lot of slow unimportant parts and then all the action and important things that happened went too quickly. Essentially, the ending is similar to Ignite Me but less satisfying in my opinion.

What was the point of the weird Anderson plot point? What was the point of bringing in the Supreme Kids if only two of them actually mattered? Even Emmaline's purpose seemed...eh. I guess I've outgrown Tahereh's writing style because nothing had an impact. Nothing stuck out. This was just another book of terrible things happening to Juliette and her screaming and crashing the world. Yawn tbh.

I love Warner and Juliette. They will always have a soft place in my heart but sadly, these last two books weren't too memorable. Restore Me was actually good but again, Defy Me and Imagine Me could've been combined with all the pointless things cut out. I was also confused about why we didn't get Warner's POV until the end? This story was about Juliette and Warner but told by Kenji. Why? While I love Kenji, his voice was getting on my last nerves. This story happened to Juliette. She barely moved the plot forward at all. What a waste. Overall, it was fine. Disappointing, but fine. My copy of the book was personalized so that's a bonus lol.

Ignite Me will always be the best.
