To say Caden is unhinged is putting things lightly!
He is the man who clearly started “touch her and die” vibes.
This book was really dark. It was almost impossible to be able to fall for a man like him after what he did to her in the very beginning, but of course I ended up loving this man. I’m not sure what that means about my morals

I’ve read this year a year ago and just reread it a while ago (I always forget to write reviews) but this books is so damn good it’s unreal!!!

I love Caden King, as fucked up as that is, he has a nice side.
I mean sure, I hated him in the beginning for doing the thing (without consent) but he had the best redemption.

The ending was perfect, I couldn’t have wished for anything else

wow this was intense. I’ve read a lot of books with morally Gray characters, but I think caden takes the cake. There was a lot that was redeeming about him, because I feel like in real life has obsession with her would have been a huge red flag. The book was very well written, and I like the story, but the intense amount of CNC was just too much was not the biggest fan of Billie. I feel like there’s some dynamics that are kind of glossed over never really fleshed out like her relationship with xi, or her other family relationships. I don’t know it was just a little bit too psycho for me to enjoy. Typically, I would really like the main character, but in this book, his antics, and even the things he said were too much.

Wow, what a wild ride that book was! I was really intrigued by this series and heard good things about it. I was a little hesitant since I'm not a big fan of bully romances but some how Lola King made this book work for me. When she said Caden isn't morally grey he is morally black she was not kidding. I didn't see how Caden and Billie could ever have a happily ever after after all that had happened between them.

As morally black and Caden was, he had moments of pure sweetness that put a smile on my face. His interactions with his nieces and the times he took care of Billie just melted my heart. Even the gestures that Caden did for Billie that were traumatic for him showed that he wasn't all black in his heart. Billie was a great FMC, while tough as nails, she still showed her vulnerable side. It was hard to understand sometimes how she could forgive Caden but at the same time I was rooting for them. I really hope we see them again in the other books. I would love to see them in even farther into the future.

Some quotes that stood out to me:
"Because once someone has seen the worst of you, they can love you for everything you are."-Caden
"My heart is yours little bee. It only loves because you showed it how to."-Caden

Please check trigger warnings before reading.

I'm now hooked and quickly moving on to book 2. I can't wait to read Xi's story. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Wow just wow. This book was absolutely amazing and deff one id want to reread again. Already knew This would be a 5 star read before I even hit the midway point. This is one you will deff want to read the triggers for as it is heavy with the dub-con. There's a lot of on page trauma and you just feel for both of these characters. Caden King is a walking red flag, he is batshit crazy, spiky and rough around the edges but gooey and mushy deep deep down. Even thru all the darkness he is still redeemable and you can't help but fall in love with his character. He is the true definition of "touch her and die". This was a true enemies x lovers and I couldn't put in down. The back and forth banter, the bullying, the damn tension, I was so here for it all. This is absolutely getting added to the roman empire list.

The last 70 pages were so unnecessary and I don’t know why Caden didn’t grovel more!
