Great read about dreams for the future and working to achieve your hopes in life. While emotional, there was a whimsy to the story that was very well done. It brought me back to stories I got lost in as a kid.

Some past trauma comes up and lots of emotional encounters. I didn't find anything to be triggering in the way it was written.

I enjoyed the childhood whimsy of the island and the growth of Christopher. There are a few relationship dynamics I questioned but not enough to rate down. 5 stars, would read again.

I did find myself wanting to return to this story and it's quite an easy read, but there are just so many issues that weren't handled well. Almost every relationship dynamic in this book is weird and even inappropriate in some cases.

I was hoping the protagonist would see how wrong she was by the end and become redeemable, but this just seems like wish fulfillment for selfish, naive people. Not for me.

An easy and predictable read. As a child free person, I found it very difficult to relate to the protagonist who's main motivation is adopting a child.
