fav quote: “she liked Harry Styles a few years ago, and now she likes that white-bread, absolutely fucking baguette of a lad from Call Me by Your Name”. This book is p much just unhinged feral woman does unhinged feral things to men that get progessively more unhinged and feral. not sure i got the deeper commentary of it all but it was *interesting* to read ! the tw list gives an indication of the unhingedness at play lmao

I have never been so intrigued by a book before, it’s quite graphic but I could not put it down. Was any of it true?? Was there ever any glass in people’s eyes???

What did i just read!!! Irina is almost the definition of the unreliable narrator and she is so unlikeable! However, i couldn't stop reading!! It felt disgusting and uncomfortable to read and i feel like i need to have a shower after reading this, but i think the way Clark wrote it was perfect. Irina was so manipulative and self destructive but i couldnt help kind of feeling interested by her character! She’s definitely not someone id like to meet in real life though!! I really liked the focus on photography and the artistic careers shown and the struggles faced!! Overall i really dont know how i feel about the book because i hated irina so much but i enjoyed the book so much haha!

A very strange experience to read about a female protagonist who is just so incredibly unlikeable and awful! I liked it a lot, in fact, though I found parts of the book difficult to stomach. Feels odd for a written woman to be this kind of violent and self-obsessed narcissist. Not easier to read than a male character with the same vibe, but I'd say it's a more well-rounded experience.
