What fun short stories! It was really nice getting some extra little details about TOXIC, Talia, and Erik. It was especially nice to get Erik’s perspective in some of these short stories. Cool companion novella to the series.

This is a short story, well actually 4 short stories, giving us an insight into several moments in the lives of Talia and Erik, 2 of my favourite characters from the Talented Saga. This saga contains 4 books so far, with a fifth due out this summer, all of which I have previously read and reviewed.

This is not a standalone novella, you need to have read the full length books in order to fully appreciate what the author shares with us in these stories.

The first of these short stories is from Talia's point of view, and is of her final fight in the trials she had to go through in order to become a Hunter for Toxic. It is also the first time she meets Erik.

The second of the stories is one we don't know about from the previous novels, because Talia wasn't told about it! Following Talia being admitted to hospital after finally meeting Ian Crane, Erik manages to spend just 5 minutes with her, and agrees not to contact her again following a short conversation with the Director.

Again we return to Talia's point of view for the third story. In this one Mac has agreed that Erik can come and visit, staying in their house, and spend some time with Talia. Mac isn't altogether happy about it, and shows it in how he speaks to Erik. But Erik is oblivious as he has planned a lovely surprise for Talia. It is so sweet in its simplicity, but exactly what Talia needs at the time.

Oh my! The fourth story - now that has me excited. I won't give anything away, but suffice to say it is from Erik's point of view, and it gives a hint as to what comes next - in Created, the next book in the series.

I cannot wait. These short stories have me hungry for more!

Meh. It's nice to read more about Erik and Talia but it doesn't add a whole lot to the story. The first three are pretty repetitive of the books. The fourth, about Erik I jail, is more interesting.
