"I was done for. I was completely in love with Marcus Black, and he was the assassin in 5F "

Whereas the first book in the duet left me disappointed ‘cause the spy aspect of the storyline wasn’t well developed through it all. (It lacked some actions here and there.)
In the other hand, this one is to say the least.. eventful. The drama, action, trahison; to sum’ the plot in itself is pretty well done as well as the sequence of events that is just cleverly schematized.

The denouement of the previous book was literally wild. I excepted some hatred from both the protagonists and was intrigued in how the author would pull them out of that situation. Meeeh, their is barely any angsty encounter between the two of them. (If I were him I would definitely made her grovel, maybe I wouldn’t even forgive her..)

"But still, I'd ended up falling for her in the kind of way that filled me with fear that someone was coming after her. The kind of way that made me distracted because I wanted to kill them. It had taken over the mission directive in my brain.
Annihilate anyone who wanted to cause her pain"

My man,Marcus carried the romance.

I was hoping to start liking them as a couple more in this book and that just wasn’t the case. I was honestly just bored and over them as a couple. They were just so annoying and made it hard to root for them. I did love the spy storyline, it was very enjoyable. I just wished I loved them as a couple.

“You kill one guy, one time, and no one ever lets you forget."

This book picks up right where book one left off. The pace of this book was a lot faster, and the plot felt fresh while still staying true to the story. I really enjoyed Addie and Rhodes and would love to see more from them in a spin off. These were very quick fun reads that would make a good palate cleanser.

The Assassin in 5F is the continuation of Marcus and Lyra’s story. The first story left on such a cliffhanger and you did get the resolution right away in book 2. This book was amazing start to finish and so many twists and turns I wasn’t expecting. The additional characters in the book made it very exciting and I’m hoping we get a glimpse into their world as well. The development of the relationship between Marcus and Lyra was perfect. When the bad guy was revealed I was surprised and loved the way everything was woven together. A great small series from Nana Malone.

This is the conclusion to The Spy in 3B, so make sure that you've read that first. Thank goodness that we didn't have to wait too long for the conclusion! This book picks up right where the other finishes, so no time has passed. Along with trying to figure out who she can trust among her friends, Lyra also has to decide whether she wants to trust Marcus. It seems that we quickly have more questions than there are answers as Lyra tries to navigate her circumstances. This read is quick paced and fun throughout with some great characters and makes for a very enjoyable read.

This was a solidly fun read for me. There is explicit on page spice. The romance was sweet and the plot straightforward but fast paced.
I did feel that things were resolved a little too neatly at the end and thought there could have been less skipping over the team getting ready for the action at the end.
Overall a solid duology and a lot of fun if you like action centric romance.

Ah how I missed Lyra and Marcus especially with how the last book ended!!!! Now that we have gotten to know them and the agencies they work for better things really ramp up now and not just between them, but also the danger around them then the pressure of trying to keep secrets from each other and others. This is the perfect steamy spy story that has you turning the page not only to make sure Lyra and Marcus get their happy ever after as well as the truth about The Firm and Exodus and make sure the bad guys get their comeuppances!!
