Lots of stuff in this book that didn’t age well! If I’d read it 20 years ago I might’ve given it more stars but… it was meh.

It took me 6 months of putting down and picking up again of this book and this was sadly underwhelming.

Better than the movie. The beginning was maybe repeating a bit and the end rushed.

Really great take on female relationships. I liked how some characters were fleshed out compared to the movie. However, Miranda herself lacked the depth that Streep gave her.

Honestly this is one of the rare books where I will say the movie is better than the book. Anne Hathaway? Yes please. I promised myself I was going to read this fully before watching the movie, yet this book was just really boring? I couldn't do it. I really couldn't. It shames me to say this but honestly it wasn't the best experience as I felt really stressed and mad the entire book. Although this may be the purpose, I sincerely did not enjoy it as I am already stressed and mad irl. I think it may just be the timing of the book but seeing that book 2 got such a negative review I'm kinda happy I didn't invest myself fully in this.

I did not like this book. It wasn't very good, the character wasn't likeable, and it really was just a hypocritical rant. She complains about their snobby and elitist ways, but she is a bigger snob and elitist. I think this could have worked better if the character was raised not as financially inependent, had worked to pay for college or gone to a non-ivy league one; as it made no sense to me how someone from wealthy Conneticut, affluent, ivy league graduate, could find themselves suffering to live in that world. Tried to be a fish out of water but it didn't really gel.
