I heard about this one on What Should I Read Next podcast and it was available at my digital library. I checked it out, but it just wasn't grabbing me right now. I'm not sure it ever will. Unlikely to return to this one. A little too character based and slow moving for me. I think I was probably 50-75 pages in?

i really love meg wolitzer’s voice. i care about the characters and think they are special and annoying and warm in the way loved ones are.

This book was a story of children growing up into adults and the life That happens to them. I found it entertaining and somewhat relatable to the struggles in real life. I think it was an honest book.

I got really into this book, I found the story very compelling. So interesting the way that nostalgia and envy was explored

I love a character driven story about friendship and navigating wealth and success. the prose felt so seamless when switching from character to character. the pace and cadence changed to reflect moods really well. it's wild that the book spanned decades, a literal lifetime, because the characters were so strong. yes this is a book about white people and some of them turn into rich white people, but listening to all that through a veil of envy makes for such an entertaining and emotional read. I kind of miss this world now that I'm done with it.
