The audiobook was wonderful to listen to, although it dragged on. This perspective was interesting, exciting, new to me, intersectional, and raw. There were parts of the writing that were winding & resolution that was both unfinished & semi-predictable?

Storyline starts off seeming interesting however has a bit of a flat ending. Well written enough to keep one engaged throughout

3.8—This book started really slow and I wanted to give up on it many times. The story gave an interesting perspective on how America is viewed from afar and how difficult life can be for the immigrants that come here. I had never considered or thought about the current challenges of moving to the US and it was interesting to hear from Tru and Patsy about their stories of survival.

Definitely a bit of a slow start and big TW for SA, self harm, depression and suicide. Was going to be 3.5 stars just because the pacing was not my favorite, but ultimately rounding up to 4 because it was a great ending and the characters are complex and lovable. Great story about queer love, gender identity, immigration, and intergenerational trauma and healing.
