Possibly some of the saddest chapters in the entire manga.

Everything is cancelled until I have Vol. 17. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hunny and Mori's graduation, and the duel which preceded it, was anticlimactic and silly. Which I suppose should've been expected from this duo. I don't know why I was expecting Mori to say something profound -- though really, if their respective fathers as models, this oddball master/servant dynamic isn't going to change anytime soon.

Haruhi's reaction to Tamaki is this volume makes me uncomfortable.
SpoilerYes, she's finally realized her attraction to him, but that's problematic to me since she's only now realizing her attraction to him. I understand she's dense (to the same degree in which he's an idiot) but I feel that her emotional epiphany is a signal of the coming of the end (of the series). You can't really have a character play the "straight guy" for fifteen volumes, and then suddenly have her act all girly towards the end of the run. I understand the romance needs closure, but after reading all these later volumes (beyond the scope of the anime) I really would've preferred it if Haruhi ended up with nobody.

Crap. I knew I should have borrowed the 17th volume concurrently with the 16th! This was cruel, considering how depressing the end of the story arc was (even though I was slightly pleased that they showed a background on the Hitachiin twins, as well as the background of Haruhi's parents). But considering this is a comedy romance, I'm not too worried.

Just one thing major comes to mind, and that's the disbanding of the host club (and how Kyouya was so adamant in not losing the friendships he's made! I feel like Renge commenting here when I say, "For that, I could eat ten bowls of rice!").

Okay, I lied. The other thing was the accidental shoujo kiss in the middle of it all. Or was that in the previous volume? Bah, I'm attributing it here, because things do start spiraling to sad. And, consequently, things do have to go through a storm before it gets better, right? (That said, the bit with the thunder fit in quite nicely!).
