It was okay. I love the characters and always love to read more about them. But the story wasn't that great. I thought the red scrolls of magic and the land we lost were great and therefore I aspected more of this one too, but it didn't quite deliver.

tbh the first half was pretty boring and just on the second half of the book shit started to get good. i was going to put like 2.5 stars but it got better and i actually got invested on the plot so yay! lmfao idk why these are the only shadowhunters books i dont love, maybe its because i read them on my kindle and therefore i dont pay that much attention so i get lost and bored? im not sure as i ALSO read gotsm on my kindle and i rated it five stars

The middle definitely drew out a lot longer than I expected compared to the last book. It felt like the hype peaked a little too early but aside from that the book delivered :D
