Our parents tell us not to judge a book by its cover. So one day, I did and I found this book! When I first looked at the cover I thought it was going to be this child's book which would be really easy to read. But when I got more into the story I realised that it wasn't just a children's but an adults too. I thought is was as sad as the fault in our stars!

This book was really enjoyable to read and I had a lump in my throat various times throughout the book. I didn't expect it to be that sad but I found myself reading chapter after chapter and all of the sudden I was finished. Maybe in the future I will read more of this author's books.

A very heartfelt read. It is told from a 12-year-old's point of view, but did not feel juvenile. I liked that the children were named after fictional characters. I guess it made me feel like them because I could see myself doing that. Of course I teared up more than once!

Do not read unless you feel like crying your way through a book. If that is your intent, then this book is for you!

This was a beautiful, wonderfully written book that ripped my heart out and tore it into tiny pieces. I have not cried so much due to a book in a long time. Because of that, I refuse, and I mean REFUSE to have this be put on the Louisiana Young Readers' Choice list because I do not want to cry every time I try to get though a booktalk!
