A profound first-hand account of existential depression that’s a perfect balance of witty and gritty. Emily Austin captures the struggles of the main character, Gilda, as a stream of consciousness which, though it can be hard to keep track of at times, makes you feel like you’re living in the reality and flashbacks of the narrator. It’s a beautiful, emotionally complex piece of writing that I found enjoyable yet simultaneously grounding to read.

Probably one of the most relatable books I've read
(maybe don't read it if you're feeling particularly anxious or depressed)

An eclectic, off-beat little book about how we confront (or refuse to confront) the inescapable pains of being a person.
