My favorite book ever. It is beautiful, full with very human characters: Jean Valjean and his endless search for redemption, strict Javert, idealistic Marius and the despicable Thenardiers. The story is both interesting and moving. Deeply moving, so much it was hard to read near the end with tears clouding my vision.

we did it, joe

it’s impossible to finish this book without a sense of deep accomplishment, wow, truly my favorite musical, to read the original source material was a wild ride. I did not expect to laugh out loud as many times as I did, or be so blown away by Hugo’s writing in some sections and repeatedly rolling my eyes in the next. a wonderful tome

I have just finished this mammoth novel and I rate it 3.75. The story was amazing however I found it to be too detailed in places listing things and describing things in so much detail that was unnecessary. I don't think I'll ever re read it but I enjoyed it.
