This read too much like bullet points to me. I felt like I was reading a textbook.

Heart wrenching yet wonderful to learn about the training and his life. This made me cry quite a bit but loved it all the same.

As the mother of a soldier it was hard for me to read this book. I found myself in tears several times. The heroism and courage of Lt. Murphy is immortalized in this book. I would recommend it to anyone interested in experiencing the life of a Navy Seal.

This reads like a person who had to write a book report for a famous historical figure. There are so few real stories about him, what he thought about his training, his fiancee and his family. It just seemed to fall flat as a story of a real person.

This is a really great book, if you can call the story of a tragedy a good book. Not only do you learn about the true American hero Michael Murphy, but you learn about what it really takes to hold his position, how to get there, and my favorite parts are how to be a good leader (parts of the book that EVERY person in a leadership role should read). It is currently not on the Navy Reading List, but I think it would be a welcomed addition. Well told and a very detailed story.
