A hard to put down YA thriller. Even when I was sure of what was going on, I was still invested to see how everything panned out.

I loved the twist in the plot which I didn't see coming yet I think I was expecting storylines or the thrill like I red in Risk and Black. The characters in this story were strong and definitely emotions ran wild and Fleur captured this but I just think there was something lacking or maybe my expectations were wrong. I liked the way the story went about and loved the closure at the end. leaving no unanswered questions is great as a reader and I felt Fleur did this perfectly.

What a story!! Loved the dual perspective (kind of jealous tbh, I’ve always tried to write dual and can never pull it off) and really enjoyed the depth of Tamara’s character. A thriller I struggled to put down. Love your work, Fleur!!!

I was really enjoying this, until the last few chapters, which seemed overly contived and rushed to a 'happy ending'. Things at the end just didn't ring true for me, which was a pity as I had become quite interested in the story and the plight of the characters.

Another fantastic tale from Ferris - a new addition to my favourite authors list. An intriguing bunch of characters, a good dose of mystery that keeps you guessing, a dash of tragedy and some action and bam - you have yourself one fabulous story to get lost in.

The tone is all over the place, it's very insta-lovey. The main character has such a vague personality and it moves so quickly there's no space for character or development or anything. It's a pretty good premise but needed more time, and a less repetitive plot (there's a lot of back and forth on calling the police, on who should be trusted, etc). In fact those two points are 90% of the book. Too many underdeveloped characters.
It's a quick read, though! And I liked the setting :D yes melbs

Trigger warnings: murder, death of a friend, violence, kidnapping, gun violence, blood, car accident.
Oh man. I really WANT to love Fleur Ferris' books, but there's just something about them that feels overly simplistic to me. This one almost would have worked better as an adult book because I have to say I had a reeeeeeeeeally hard time buying the idea of a 23 year old running a major media corporation, whereas if all the characters had been just five years older it would have worked a lot better for me.
Add in an utterly unnecessary romance between two characters with very little chemistry between them and this was a big ol' pile of average for me. Sigh.
