Once again, obnoxious main character that I completely hate. But the storyline was good, still quite predictable.

As far as sequels go, this was definitely better than the first book. The plot was outrageous and ridiculous in terms of believability, but I suppose that reflects the age demographic it's aimed at. That being said it was a quick, good read.

The plot was basic, following the same sort of formula as the previous book. I enjoyed seeing how the characters had grown a bit and forged new dynamics with their relationships too since the previous book, though it was all told wuite literally with the words "you see...". But as far as character development goes, that's where the good things stop. I feel like there was no actual personality growth and the personalities were just forced upon us rather than developed through the story. I think that's how the author writes in general; telling rather than showing. I suppose it might work for this book as it's for a younger audience but it ruined the reading experience for me.

Huge spoiler warning!
justice for shelby! There was absolutely no need to kill her off. Yes she was dislikable and she honestly annoyed me in both the first and second book, but that's only because there was NO room for her to develop! It would’ve honestly been a much more impactful book if we had more insight into Shelby, and it would've allowed for Lauren to grow as a person too
It might just be me but I definitely think that books that are aimed at younger readers should have characters that actually grow and change, especially if they are initially portrayed to be not-so-good.

Overall it was an okay book, not the best, even for younger readers.

I post more detailed reviews of the books that I’ve read over on my blog, so please click here if you’re interested: http://www.apearlydream.co.uk/2017/12/book-review-sister-missing.html

Overall, this was a good sequel but it wasn’t a great sequel. I know that you shouldn’t compare sequels to the original novel, but in this case it’s more or less impossible to not compare; it covers a lot of similar themes, ideas and even content, which was a bit of a disappointment, to be honest. There are good elements to this novel, for example seeing the relationship between the sisters and their parents develop and I genuinely did enjoy it; this is a novel that I wish could be a 5 stars, but unfortunately I just felt that something was missing, there was more to give.

This one is much better than the first one! The story really picked up from page 1 and kept me hooked until the very end. Very excited for the third book in the series!

okay right it’s been a good 2-3 years since i read this but honestly right from the get go this book was like something i would’ve written at the age of 11? like genuinely this was so unrealistic i genuinely remember wanting blind myself after reading some of this
however
not even gonna sit here and lie that i didn’t absolutely love reading this book it was SO entertaining partly because it was so stupid but also because the plot was something i was genuinely invested in. i do feel like it would’ve been better off written in a kind of dystopian/fiction world instead of based in a real world setting because then maybe it wouldn’t be so fucking unrealistic some of the stuff that happened. honestly though the 3rd book just sent me off the edge so i’m gonna go review that rn
