This is definitely not the ending I expected but I can't say I'm upset! this book pulled me in so many different directions and I honestly didn't know where anything was heading. These characters are all put through so much heartache and that heartache doesn't stop until the very last page.

I really enjoyed this book but I do think that the flashbacks were a little repetitive because most of them were things we had already seen in the first two books. I would have loved to see more of their relationship and wish we had gotten less of the politics and flashbacks. All in all, though this is a beautiful series and I'm so glad I read it. This was such an interesting retelling and so different than anything I've read!

Ash, Greer, and Embry will always have a place in my heart and their love was so much fun to read about.

I’m so sad to be done with this series. What a wild, beautiful, chaotic, hot ride this was. I just love her writing and detail and the entanglement of history. I am also a sucker for shock + happy endings. I cried many tears when Ash decided to sacrifice himself (figured that would happen), and sobbed tears of joy when he returned. Many hearts for this series. (And the spice was just amazing; lots of cold showers needed)

Oh my heart!!! This entire trilogy has been so amazing. So much love and so much hot! American King had my heart going a mile a minute on an emotional rollercoaster and also kept with so many beyond hot hot scenes!

Oh my freaking goodness this book was INSANELY good. Book 3, you did not disappoint. I am so sad this series is over. It was so sexy and emotional at the same time. More on the sexy side BUT STILL. I highly recommend this series.

American King is the epic conclusion to this exceptional trilogy.
I freaking loved every minute of reading AK.
Maxen “Ash” is the most powerful man on earth, he is the President of the Untied States.
His loyalty to those he loves and to his country is a thing of awe.
President, husband, dominant and in love with two people.
His Queen Greer and his Prince Embry.
Theirs is a intricate love story.
The are connected not only on a physical level.
But also spiritual, mentally and they are all true soulmates.
Even with all the love they have with one another, issues and problems come barreling their way.
Because nothing good and wonderful comes without the bad.
This story is complex, fast moving and intense.
Beautifully written book that had me so enthralled and enamored.
A must read trilogy that will leave you breathless.
An epic love story of sacrifice and commitment.
And three remarkable unforgettable characters ❤️

I listened to this one and loved every minute of it. I went into this series blind and I'm glad I did. If you are looking for a MMF spicy romance this is a series for you. The ending.... you will be shocked.

This was definitely something lol. A whole bunch of angst and smut that didn't seem to have much reason to it. I almost dnf'd this at 85% because I was so annoyed when that happened, but I did stick with it. Overall this series is okay, there is a lot of unnecessary drama but I'm glad the main characters got their happily every after.

I loved this one! It was my favorite, I hated to put it down. So many twists! I gasped and then was relieved. Literally you have all of the feelings in this one.

This series was a WILD ride. There were some plot devices used that are not my favorite and they ended up kind of becoming non-things. One of the “bad people” had a kind of “meh” ending for me, but when you try to stick the book into the Arthurian Legend, it makes more sense.

I will say, I’m not a fan of books based off of King Arthur and while this series starts that way, the entire middle really deviates from it, and then the end of the last book kind of circles back. I thought this series was going to go REALLY out in left field, but Simone brought it back and I ended up liking the end. The end made sense for the story and I liked it.

Still…This series was a complete trip.

This book didn’t have as much Ash POV as the others had, but it makes sense as we’re getting the 3rd telling of their tales. However, Ash being Ash, had to really steal the entire book by the end.

I liked the trio’s dynamic, but Greer still takes a backseat to Ash and Embry and I’m not really sure she was needed at all. However, it’s the dynamic they have and it works.
