I really enjoyed it, even more than I thought I would enjoy a behind-the-scenes theatre satire. Only 4 stars because it's unfinished.

I don't know why I keep trying Russian literature when I so clearly don't like it.

Much as I loved the Master and the Margarita, I found Black Snow a somewhat difficult read. The basic story is of a frustrated writer trying to get his play performed, wound up in the craziness of the theater producers, actors and their cohort. The twists and turns are bizarre and sometimes amusing, but the overall impact was, for me, underwhelming.
