if i was a kid when i read this book i would've been all over it. a very light, quick and digestible read, one nonetheless that can pierce the soul. "you become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed."

There will never be a moment when I read this book and it doesn't leave me feeling an specific sort of way.

I am shocked how much I didn't enjoy this book.

I felt it was similar to [b:Siddhartha|52036|Siddhartha|Hermann Hesse|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1428715580l/52036._SY75_.jpg|4840290]. I was surprised and disappointed how much it was built up by other readers, but it just wasn't for me.

I found the story very strange and uninteresting.

I feel that I am missing the meaning behind the story. I prefer more concrete books and not metaphorical books anyways.

wow oh wow. this book had been on my shelf for years and i finally read it today. it’s a big statement, but this may be one of the best, if not the best, book i’ve ever read. i feel like i could read it again and again and never grow tired of it. this is such a tender, beautiful story told with such a soft and gentle voice. this is a book for children, that can be for grown ups if we listen. extraordinary
