This one immediately went on my short list of fun picture books to give as gifts. Fun sounds, good for bedtime read-alouds, delightful art.

Limber up your onomatopoeia muscles for this wind-em-up and calm-em-down bedtime story set in a multi-family building.

Eight million stars! Oge Mora is an artistic genius. I love how Anne Wynter brought the story to a giant crescendo and then had it decrescendo in the same way.

Everybody in the Red Brick Building written by Anne Wynter & illustrated by Oge Mora

A vibrant & fun picture book about an apartment building full of families, kid, and pets awoken by the different city sounds & eventually lulled back to sleep again by soothing city sounds.

We really loved the illustrations in this “loud” picture book. As you can see one of my daughters really enjoyed making the city sounds from this story. This book can only be read aloud! Oge Mora’s fantastic use of colors, patterns & textures brings the illustrations and story to life.
