Yesss, Special Agent Leslie Fisher! Nuanced depictions of established relationships!

But trigger warnings apply:
Spoiler
1.Rape. It's more graphic than anything described in maybe anything other than Mercy #3. That said, the way it’s handled is great.
2. Racism.

I really do love the pacing and writing of Patricia Briggs' writing that keeps calling me back, in spite of my dislike of alpha male heroes.

Anna and Charles are such great characters and the story in this one was so entertaining. I liked the mystery tied in with learning more about how things are going for the werewolves now. Can't wait to read the next Briggs books.

Slow to start and for some reason the plot line didn't spark for me. However, at about one third of the way through things picked up (could be me, could be PB). I liked some of the Charles-Anna push pull working through their connection problems. Lots of grimness and abusive behaviour in the baddies of the piece which was rather discomforting.

Mostly left me with a postivive feeling in the end.

five out of five.

This was definitely the most exciting book out of the three for me, and the ending left my heart pumping for sure. I was not expecting that.

Plot:
When the FBI requests the pack’s help on a local serial-killer case, Charles and Anna are sent to Boston to join the investigation. It soon becomes clear that someone is targeting the preternatural. And now Anna and Charles have put themselves right in the killer’s sights

I loved Anna and Charles working alongside FBI, loved, loved, loved all the new characters in this book (I definitely admire Patricia Briggs ability to write about a bunch of characters without making them blend together or hard to keep track on), the plot was interesting and I got really surprised by the conclusion of this book. The series just keeps getting better and better!

This was actually a relisten. I originally listened to this earlier in the year. So freaking good.

Okay! This is getting back in to the swing of things. It tends to veer a bit too much into the excessive domination stuff that were books tend to slide in to, but it wasn't too bad. Other than that, I felt like this got the books back to what I really loved about the first one. I did guess the "twist" pretty early in the book and I felt like Charles' problem was resolved a bit too easily but overall I enjoyed it.
