Buffering is such a snapshot of the particular moment in time when YouTube was massive and YouTubers were the next big thing. It has made me so curious about what Hannah Hart and her ilk are up to these days.
The book itself isn't well written and suffers from millennial humour and a surprising amount of fatphobia and religious style parables. But despite that it is honest and vulnerable and really let's you in to Hart as a person and I appreciated that about it.
I'm pleased to have reread it to rediscover my memories of 2016 but probably will never pick it up again.

I thought that this book was going to be funny -- and in wry moments, it was. But mostly, this book is an incredibly important and honest personal examination of mental illness, homophobia, family, trauma, resilience, self love and love for those who get us through. It was nothing like I expected, and I am so glad to have read it. The best book I've read on mental illness in a long time.

Honest, thoughtful, funny, and fantastically written. This does not go light on some of the more difficult things that Hannah has dealt with in her life, and some of her experiences especially in regards to her mother were incredibly raw to read emotionally. It was the Hannah that I have loved from her videos, and also another Hannah that I really wanted to know more about. I am so impressed by this book.

An amazing look inside the mind and heart (pun of course intended) of one of the biggest social media influences of the last 10 years. Passionate, honest with a keen eye for wit at just the right times. I cannot say enough good things about this!

Thought provoking, heart breaking and honest. The bravery this took to write is outstanding.

I feel like this book is a prime example of how you think you have a certain idea of who someone is but actually have no idea.
