Another solid entry in the Poirot series. The story reminded me a little of Knives Out. I guessed this one correctly, but not until the chapter right before the big reveal as Poirot was reviewing the facts.

This book is a classic mystery about a wealthy man who dies under suspicious circumstances in his home in England. I read this book years ago, but it was fun to read it again for this challenge. I remembered many of the characters, but not the details of the case. I was still fooled by all the red herrings and was very wrong in my guess as to who the killer was. This was a well-written and interesting mystery I enjoyed reading (again.)

Perhaps the sharpest of Christie's class satire. The Abernathys are all a collection of neuroses, a family stuck in generational and societal change without any idea how to navigate either one. It allows the case to exist in the first place, unfurling delightfully, with plenty of delicious red herrings.

The wind up to the ending just goes on a little too long, which Christie even seems aware of, as a character jokes about it.
