This book appears somewhat simple, but it's like a song that starts with one instrument and keeps adding melodies. You could easily do something with shapes and have students write their own story. I enjoyed the short promotional video for the book as well, and would use it with students.

I'm not sure this would be great for storytime, but it would probably be fun to explore one-on-one. Spatial awareness.

This is the kind of book that deserves a place on the shelf in every elementary school library - though it probably won't be on the shelf very long because there will always be kids wanting to check it out.

Deceptively simple, definitely brilliant. Destined to be a new classic.

As a concept book, great! For mock Caldecott, not as great

An impressive array of shapes, colors, patterns, directional and positional language, etc. Not a story, but great for introducing and discussing concepts. A little long, though.

I don't feel like I understand this book, but I like it. The text has great rhythm and I enjoyed seeing how the images were remixed from page to page to bring out new details and classifications. A great picture book to show how there are many ways to look at and describe objects and ideas.
