Usually I love Synithia Williams and her Soap Opera-ish storylines. Unfortunately, I loathe Imani. I cannot believe this immature woman is in her late 30s.
IDK - maybe I’ll come back to this at some point. Or just start with book 2. But this isn’t working for me right now.

Finally a small town romance I enjoyed! I liked the premise of a small town with a strong sense of community. I would’ve liked to see more of Imani in action as a doctor instead of it being referenced. Also felt like everything wrapped up too quickly still but looking forward to continuing the series.

It seems like everyone is gaslighting the main character into thinking it’s totally fine that her mom is marrying someone she’s only been dating a month. Not only does she not know his past, but she and everyone else is acting like the main character is a man hater for being suspicious of the rushed relationship after a history of an abusive relationship. On top of it all, the love interest is her step brother to-be, which wouldn’t be as weird if they weren’t emphasizing calling his father her stepfather. It’s all a little too incest adjacent

Imani was annoying right up to the very end. But I like the wider community and side chara ters I'd read more if this is a series.
Moderate: Death of parent
