This is a very short book but it’s full of such beauty - the beauty of being loved and giving love.  It doesn’t matter what faith tradition you come from, or even if you have a faith in God, this little book will positively impact you.

'There are many people who can do big things, but there are very few people who will do the small things'.

This week I'm staying with an American friend who's a devout Catholic, as reflected in her hundreds-strong collection of books on the saints. Most of them are too obscure or esoteric for me, but Mother Teresa is a familiar figure to most of us, and still a relevant one. This collection of her thoughts, stories and prayers was a quick read but a profound reminder to work hard to spread love, joy, compassion, generosity wherever there is suffering and hate.

As the title suggests, this book is broken down into three sections: thoughts, stories, and prayers. I found the thoughts to be the most interesting section, and I could have read a much longer collection of these. Thoughts read much like snippets from MT's diary. The stories were rather short didacticisms that, to this reader, lacked development enough to satisfy. Overall an inspiring, if not brief, book.
