Despina and Jalal, I'm so in love with these two!
After reading The Wrath and the Dawn, I'm so glad that we got to see how everything came to be between the pair, and as usual, Renee Ahdieh did not disappoint. The chemistry between the two is completely undeniable, and the tension is just as strong. In just a few chapters, the author was able to take me on a rollercoaster of emotions, and leave me wanting so much more!

I'm excited to start reading The Rose and the Dagger, I'm ready for them to get their happy ending. (because if they do not, I don't think my heart could take it ugh)

This was really cute. Kinda short to clearly explain us their story but I loved it.
Their banters and stuff, and that scene where he climbs the tree to get her the flower even though he's scared of heights. I so wish this was bigger and I'm sooo hoping they end up together in 'the rose and the dagger' which comes out this month!!! Can't wait!!

I really enjoyed Despina and Jalal in The Wrath & the Dawn and I just loved seeing them in this novella. Ever since we found out about Despina's baby, I was curious to find out how this all came to be, how she was swept off her feet. And as always, the writing was beautiful and I just love that this wasn't too insta-lovey. Can't wait to finish the next novella before diving into The Rose & the Dagger. I just really hope this couple gets their HEA.

Renee Ahdieh has become one of my favorite authors, and the level of detail and skill in this novella is proof of why. She writes with such stunning elegance and saucy wit that her books are too good to ever pass over. I hope that we get more stories of this world in the future.

I loved most of it but Shazi n Khalid fell in love too quickly for me. One page they’re hurling insults, the next they’re cdeclsribg lovd. I like a slow burn, gradual acceptance. It was really well written though
