If you still haven't reached the halfway point and find it slow and boring, keep reading. It gets so much better.
It was sad, and gory, and dark, and I was genuinely scared during the whole climax, which is great in a horror novel. I loved it, and if the first half wasnt so slow boring I would have given it a 4.5 (it was too brutal for my taste).
