Me sacó gritos, suspiros, lágrimas y carcajadas. Fue un apapacho al alma.

Written so beautifully. I honestly thought the time-travel aspect wouldn't be done well (as per previous movies/books) but it didn't go into it too much and also just enough so that it wasn't taking you out of the story. The characters felt like real people and I was just rooting for both of them the whole time. Worth the hype it's getting for sure.

There are so many reasons why I love this book. I love how Ashley Poston utilizes speculative features in contemporary romance. I love how the main characters are centered around my two loves: books and cooking. I love the author’s note. It made the story. Ashley Poston may well be on her way to becoming one of my favorite authors.

I was hesitant to give this 4 stars because for the majority of the book it was looking like a 3.5-3.75 but I think the ending saved it. The first 100 pages are the hardest to get through and I don't think I've ever taken this long to get through a 300 page romance book but you just have to stick to it. And I was in a reading slump coming back from my trip so probably not the book's entire fault.

It was a cute romance and it definitely has a punch with it's subject matter. I think tiktok might have sold it a little bit too much for what it was but I still really enjoyed it.

If I'm being completely honest, some of the stars in my rating Im giving myself because of my amazing playlist that encapsulated the vibes front to back of this book and it was fantastic. I know the book is set throughout summers but it felt more like a transitional book into autumn which I really liked.

Iwan was probably my favourite of the characters (though admittedly there's only him and Clementine worthy of merit) but I can not picture him in my head as anything other than the Bear. I can't see ginge curls and white eyes on a man in his mid 20s. Also very surprised his favourite colour wasn't blue but that was probably one of the best scenes in the book.

I really liked the direction the ending took and glad that they chose to start fresh for themselves and grow together rather than dwelling on the only thing that really brought them together.

I will add here, is it really a romance book if the fmc isn't a millennial having a career crisis? seriously i want a girl who is stable in her career and actually enjoys what she's doing until she doesn't. it's getting quite predictable

i did predict that there wouldn't be much plot about 80 pages in and i still maintain that it was more just vibes but i don't necessarily think that's a bad thing. the time travel did confuse me when he admits to her that he knew and had met her when she was 22. it only took me to the last 20 pages when i could kind of understand what he had actually meant but I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.

Overall, i did enjoy this and do think it's a pretty solid read but honestly, if i forget any of the subject matter in like a week i honestly wouldn't be that surprised. all the more reason for a re-read.

(4.5⭐) UHHG I LOVVVVVED THIS!!! A little paranormal/weird time bendy-wendy abstract bits in a contemporary romance?? Yes please! It just added such a fun element of something different to an otherwise relatively standard Second Chance Romance. Both MCs are smart, kind, funny, interesting, complicated, flawed people who grow and learn together to BE better as they fall in love throughout time.

!!!!! TW for suicide, and mourning/grief of a loved one!!!! - it is a minor part and handled respectfully and with a lot of heart, but still, be careful.

✨ Second Chance Romance...sort of? There's some weird time travel so it's like one of their first chances while also their third chance while it's the others second chance by also first...or something. It's good don't worry.
✨ She's a city gal with a Big Girl job that isn't fulfilling her wanderlust, he's a chef from a smaller town and trying to make a name for himself in the big city
✨ Both MCs have very sweet familial bonds - she grew up traveling with her eccentric Aunt, he is trying to make his grandpa proud 🫠🥹
✨ Themes of love throughout time - how to love someone who has grown into a different person, and how to grow into the person you want to be
🎧 Audiobook is wonderfully narrated by Brittany Pressley (she's done many other of my favorites con-roms, and never fails!)
🌶️.5/5, one pretty mild spicy scene, definitely not on the smutty side, it's more romantic and flowery

This book was really cute and I really liked the concept. I’ve never read magical realism and this was such a fun little read. The story, characters, and everything else was just nice. I liked everything about it but the reason it’s not getting a 5 is because I just didn’t feel a huge spark with it. Overall it was a great book and I would read another book by this author.

I'm glad my book club picked this for the month, or it never would have clicked for me that Poston also wrote The Dead Romantics which I read last year and loved. I ended up listening to this, rather than reading it, since the audiobook was available faster than the ebook and I enjoyed it more than I expected. I tend to listen to nonfiction books more than fiction books, but I had fun with this one.

The plot itself was ok. Obviously as a reader I was able to see more context than Clementine did, but I still found myself frustrated with how clueless she was. I also really hated how rude she was to/about her parents. How can you be close to 30 and still not understand that your parents are human and aren't just the figures you've created in your mind? I'm also confused that going to a restaurant in NEW YORK CITY once a year makes you regulars to the point that the waitress remembers what you ordered a year ago?? Anyway, I find that little things like that frustrated me and made it hard for me to love the book. The Iwon/Clementine plot was solid, and I liked the side characters, but it felt like there were just details that were missing or didn't make sense.
