Why?? Why did we need this book.? It was so much that went wrong in this book I dont know where to begin. It almost felt like she wanted to write about these characters but didn't really have a vision for them. It's funny that the book title is getting happy. They ended in Waiting to Exhale happy so really it was not reason to "Get Happy". It was almost like she destroyed their lives so just so she had a reason to build them back up but you were so annoyed by why did this even need to happen that building up process was just as irritating. I would have loved to hear about Savanah in Paris she could have took her on an adventure if the whole point was for her to got there and "get happy". Like some Eat Pray Stuff. Anyway I didnt understand Russell role. I hated Savanah in this book. Well I hated everything just everything. Not sure why I even gave this 2*s .

If you love "waiting to Exhale" then you will love this book. Awesome, to catch up on the four women that we have come to love. They deal with all the issues that are currently happening to women today. And especially for women that are currently in or near your 50's. I would suggest this book to all of my friends.

When reading please acknowledge my grammar is not the best as I am dyslexic.

I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews about this book, and I’ve got to say I understand where they came from. Although I somewhat enjoyed the story, McMillian totally destroyed these Women’s life’s. It’s like she wrote this book out of peer pressure rather than because she wanted to, and for the made all the ladies lifes unhappy and miserable.

Although I know McMillan was going through her own personal battles at the time of writing this story, which reflects in her writing.

I wouldn’t say not to read this book, however if your a fan of waiting to exhale you may be slightly disappointed.

While I enjoy/embrace the sisterhood, the whole "Black men ain't sh!t" message is getting so old. To make matters worse, you have a group of women who are now 50 years old and still "finding" themselves and learning to define themselves without men.

It was nice to revisit the characters from Waiting to Exhale, but the story wasn't as captivating.
