Mini review time! Set after the show, this volume deals with the Charmed Ones trying to have a normal life. As usual, that doesn't work out for them. They've been able to start the families they so desperately wanted but they're not entirely safe. They haven't had to deal with demons for a long time, but that changes when two new foes bring back an old one. This is a great start to the "season": the women have children of their own that are coming into their powers, their careers are going strong, and their powers are advancing at a time when an unknown foe begins to move against them. I really enjoyed it. Reading it brought back how much I loved the show.

I enjoyed the story lines for each chapter, but I was a little thrown by the art. Some of it wasn't the greatest--I honestly couldn't tell Henry and Leo apart and sometimes I wasn't sure if I was looking at Phoebe or Piper. Later on the chapters got better and more detailed, so I'm not sure if the artist changed?

In any case, these are definitely very enjoyable if you're a fan of the show! I recommend it for the continuation!

What a wonderful addition to Charmed. I loved reading this, it was great being reunited with all the old favourite forgotten characters; if you are a fan of Charmed this is definitely not a disappointing read!

I could definitely picture this being apart of the television show. The only problem I had with this comic was I was not impressed how the sister's were drawn.

4.5-5 Stars

I remember hearing for the first time how my favourite TV show would be returning in comics form - I was thrilled! And this volume doesn't disappoint. If I hadn't already read the entire season this would probably be a 4.5, but as I know how all of the plot threads weave together this is definitely a 5 star read for me.

The characters feel like we've just left off from where they were on the show; the plots are engaging and move the story forward while still having many nostalgic throwbacks to previous seasons; and for the most part the art was great. The only thing that sticks out is that sometimes the dialogue could be kinda stilted and the lettering would emphasise the wrong words, but that's a small fault. Most of the time the characters felt like their TV selves. There are a few plot points that could seem mightily convenient - but as I know how they're all explained and tied into the future volumes it's hard to be objective about that.

The introduction of a new villain really energises the comics; and the change in format allows for more creative depictions of magic and monsters that the TV show could never afford to reproduce in later years. Neena brings so much nefarious characterisation to the comics that has only been rivaled by Season 7 villain Zankou.

Each of the sisters' has their own plot threads but they still come together to kick ass and save the day. They all grow over the course of the volume and it's great to see their relationship with each other as strong as ever, as well as their relationships with their husbands and children.

I would definitely recommend Season 9, Volume 1 for any fans of the Charmed TV show!

Being a long time fan of the show since a child. I was curious to see how they would further explore the characters and mythology built up in the show. The comic book art is okay not great. The storyline isn't fantastic but if you're curious about what happens after season 8 you might like it. If you're happy with how season 8 ended the show than you're not missing anything.

I was absolutely positive that I was going to enjoy this graphic novel, and I was 100% correct in that assumption.

The Halliwells and I have had a very long-term relationship, and I'm super attached to their characters. I was very pleased to see that this book did their characters justice. Especially with Piper (who is currently my favorite of the sisters). I liked that we got to see the next generation, and I hope that they play a bigger part in this series to go along with the whole witchy bloodline thing that Charmed has going on. I loved the interplay between magical scenes and family scenes, and it felt like this book was an extension of the show.

Pretty sure I only gave 4 stars because it took me a while to read it with finals and all, and because of that my interest in the book waned a bit.

I think I'm going to make this series read a slow one, just because I don't really want it to end (and I also don't want to get addicted to the series and have to wait for the next installment).

charmed is apparently 90% of what i think about now, and this is delightful. the timeline feels screwy (listen, I'm fairly sure chris and wyatt should be toddlers here), but i'm probably the only person on the planet who is personally offended by timelines, so that's not that big of a deal. very much recommend if you just binge watched your way through eight seasons and don't know how to let go.
