i hate hate HATE that there is so much going on in this book. the beauty of the previous instalments was that every book had one main goal that was built up to. this was just all over the place.

side note: i’m very much team adrian. and as much as i loved dimitri in shadow kiss, i wish they’d killed him <3

Honestly, the only reason this isn't getting 5 stars is completely on me, not the book. I started and read a lot of the beginning while I was under a lot of stress and I wasn't completely in the book, and then during the middle, a very critical part, I was not able to fully focus on it like I would have wanted. Now the last half - I cried. I don't remember the last time I cried at a book - so I think that had I been as focused on the first half then I would have been even more emotionally impacted. Then that unexpected twist I did not expect, and it was very fast paced and I was HERE for it. I finished this just after midnight and I had to be convinced not to immediately start the next one. I'm so excited and nervous to finish out this series and I feel like it is going to WRECK me. Let's go.
