This was one of the most fun mystery books I've ever read. The narrator was amazing and I loved the way she changed her voice for different characters to bring them to life. Marlowe was such a witty, fun main character. And the mystery itself was engaging, with great interwoven storylines of the past and present day. Totally recommend!
Graphic: Fire/Fire injury
Moderate: Alcoholism, Child death, Drug use, Toxic relationship, Grief, and Murder

I really liked it, would recommend, but the protagonist is a little flat. Not dislikable, but not the most compelling character in the book.
Graphic: Alcoholism, Child death, Death, Blood, Medical trauma, Murder, and Fire/Fire injury
Moderate: Xenophobia, Grief, and Injury/Injury detail
Eugenics is discussed several times.
