I feel like you can never go wrong with an Aurora Rose Reynolds book, she is the definition of a comfort read author for me. I know I'm going to like the characters and the story, and I know the angst level is going to be very manageable for me. She is the perfect author for me when I just need something lighter to read with characters I know I'm going to be rooting for, and this book was no exception, it was exactly what I needed in that moment.

Everyone in Leah's life wants her to settle down, and if she's being honest, she'd like to find the right man for herself to, but so far the people she's been going out with have not been the right guy. But maybe, hopefully, her new neighbor might be. And with the help of their meddling animals, staying away from each other doesn't really seem to be an option. The more time they spend together, the quicker they fall. But when someone else wants Leah, keeping her safe becomes priority number one for Tyler.

There were definitely parts of this that are a little over the top and unrealistic, but I tend to feel that way about most books with an alpha hero (which is probably more of a me thing than anything else), but I still really enjoyed the story here. Tyler and Leah made for a really sweet couple and I loved all the big and little moment between them. I really enjoyed how their relationship developed and I loved the way Tyler went about starting a relationship with Leah. I loved the low-angst of this one with the little bonus mystery/suspense plotline. This isn't a book I'm going to scream from the rooftops about, but it was an enjoyable time for me and definitely one I would recommend when you just need a break from heavy plots and characters.

This read was in no way special. It was extremely overloaded with tropes and no originality. That being said, I didn't hate it. I will probably read the next book, just because the author's writing style provides an easy escape. The author is never a surprise (at least not for my experiences), so I know what I'm getting.

Leah is in her early thirties and she's past all the games of dating. She's not going to chase after a guy after she got burned once. She doesn't come across as cynical and downtrodden about, just that is simply the way it is for her. However, she also comes across as lazy and inconsiderate in her attempts to avoid confrontation of any kind. Instead of telling a guy that often asks her out "no," she repeatedly gives him excuses, hoping he'll get the message, rather than just breaking it to him gently. On the other end, a guy she does like, she never will make any first move, because apparently that would be putting too much effort into the relationship. The guy has to be the first to ask her out, the first to bring up mushy feelings, the first to broach living together - you get the picture. Of course, in every other way, she's amazingly kind, sweet, doting, and strong. But she has to have the one (incredibly annoying) flaw to drive the plot and create a little tension.

Tyler is the new neighbor and has no flaws, really. At least not in how the book presents him. He is absolutely everything Leah is looking for and more.

So if you can get past the horribly unrealistically (nearly) perfect main characters and unoriginal plot, I really do seem to enjoy the author's style. I never really considered putting the book down, even though I rolled my eyes multiple times.

Super sweet

This was such a light, fun read. The chemistry between Tyler and Leah is undeniable. And though the storyline was a bit rushed, it fit the setting of this book. Tyler and his protective alpha male side is just sexy, along with Leah and her sweet, caring personality. Love it!

Decent author introductory book

Full disclosure it felt really stretched out . They meet and fall in love fairly quickly, Tyler meets her family and they like him but after that it feels like the story is too long. Even the little drama they have is pushed back and forgotten until it happens again because there is more romance and couple bonding between these moments. It was well written and nice story but the next book is about the same length so I'll wait until I finish others before starting that.

When going to look for her cat who once again, ran out the front door, Leah heads over to the empty house that's been up for sale since her old neighbors left. Except, it's not empty anymore. With a gun pointed at her, Leah is met with a very handsome man living in the house which is definitely no longer empty. Break-ins, arson & family drama. What could go wrong..

This was your typical ARR rom-com. Alpha male and a somewhat quirky girl who have their meet cute in random situation. If you love her previous work then really enjoy this one.

Catching Him is the start of Aurora Rose Reynolds new How to Catch an Alpha series and introduces readers to Leah and Tyler. The alpha who moves in next door, and after a charming first encounter, an engaging and entertaining slow burn romance ensues. That is until Tyler confesses his feelings and a full blown relationship begins, and sadly this is where the story started to lose me a little. As everything began to move at a much faster pace, and the chemistry Tyler and Leah generated at the start began to fizzle out.

Yet, there was no denying it was extremely sweet, engaging and at times fun to read. And the romance was certainly smooth going. With only minor hick ups thrown in thanks to a jealous ex and an overprotective parent. Which easily made it more interesting and a little less predictable.

And as starts to series go it was absolutely an enjoyable one. So I'll definitely be looking out for book two when it's released.

Would recommend.

Love has a way of finding you, or catching you off guard, when you least expect it. Leah wasn't looking for love and she definitely didn't want to chase after it. Tyler was just looking for a fresh start when a better opportunity came his way. Neither of them were looking for each other. However life had other plans and love found them without letting them know ahead of time. This was a wonderful story. It was fast paced with a little bit of drama. It was the perfect book to fill my time with while I was waiting for another book to come out. I loved Leah's independence but her denial was even better. She was so afraid to see what was right in front of her that she almost didn't see her. I loved Tyler's southern manners. He was the perfect gentleman. He gave Leah everything she needed and more while getting to know her at the same time. And who can forget Mouse and Bruce. If it wasn't for Mouse's craziness they wouldn't have met the way they did. I'm sure they would have met but their meet-cute might have been boring. And Bruce! He was to adorable! The dog captured the lady before the man had a chance. I loved it! This looks like a great start to a new series. I look forward to seeing what is to come next!
