Harrowing account of how humanity is capable one of the most inhumane acts ever; widespread torture and violence — even to the most vulnerable. Perhaps we should not fear the mystical beasts, but each other.

uno dei romanzi più heartbreaking che abbia mai letto, la realtà è la tragedia più grande che si possa raccontare.

4.5 stars - This book certainly isn’t for the faint of heart. The beginning particularly is quite gory in it’s telling.
It’s a really difficult book to talk about in a short review but in short it weighs up human nature - horrific versus kind. What makes humans do what we do, what are our souls made of, what is the point of all the suffering we inflict on each other.
It’s certainly a difficult book to read with everything happening in our world right now.
