This definitely reminded me of a Japanese version of The Princess Diaries. This story was rich with Japanese culture and I loved that. I enjoyed the writing and our main character Izzy. She explored the dilemma of being "not American enough" & "not Japanese enough" in a culture where you are expected to be both. This was really a great read.

More romance, more culture, more finding yourself, and more daddy/daughter time than princess diaries, but the comparison is still there for me. I loved it, and I’m excited to see it’s a series, since there’s some parent trap things I’d love to see.
