This novella was everything that I needed in a spicy romance ! There was a plot (which is always something that I love in a romance book), the characters were pretty amazing (one of them is morally grey, which is always nice in a monster-romance) and the romance felt pretty real (even though it was fast due to the size of the book).
To be honest, it is the first time that I read a novella that I liked this much (I may be a bit of a picky reader to say the least). So trust me and do yourself a favour ! READ THIS BOOK, IT IS SO GOOD !

This was a quick and easy monster romance between a human and a spider shiftery type creature.
It was fast paced, fated mates (the only instalove I'll ever allow), and ultimately a HEA. I wish this had been a full length novel as we didn't really get an opportunity to get to know the characters very deeply.
But the hero and heroine were sweet, conflict was resolved at a reasonable pace. I have to admit, I didn't see that conflict coming. The little plot twist from the hero's past? Yikes 👀 Jaw dropped.

This walked a weird line between dark and fluffy. It was good in some places and detracted in others. Pretty good smut, but the characters really started to get on my nerves around halfway through, especially Sephtis. The magic and Sephtis’ backstory was hand wavy and full of plot holes that it was distracting as a reader.

They only had sex with his spider form once at the end, and it was shorter than the other sex scenes. Commit to the monster!
