I am enjoying revisiting this series, and the fourth instalment is a good one, if not quite as good as the first one. In fact I think the first one is best in the whole series (of the ones I've read) so I shouldn't really compare any subsequent instalments to that first one.

Lyndsey Boxer is on trial for the shooting of a teenage girl and her brother. The girl died and the brother is now paralysed. Lyndsey shot in self defence after the kids shot and wounded Jacobi - Lyndsey's old partner - and shot at Lyndsey. Seems pretty straight forward, but Lt Boxer had had a little tipple with dinner and the defence are claiming she was drunk when she shot the kids.

There is also a case going on in the background for Lyndsey to solve. She is targeted and shot at and kicked off the force and all kinds of things, but as with any James Patterson - it all comes good in the end, well mostly.

The writing is good - classic JP, and Maxine Paetro. This writing pair is an exception to my belief his co-authored works are slightly below par compared to his sole stuff. I really enjoy reading this series.

Good instalment, worth a read, I would say start from the beginning and read them all, but can be enjoyed on it's own as well.

Had this book on hold for a while.
Lindsay was avout to go on trial so I paused my reading so she could have a little more time before going to court. Yeah I know. IT doesn't make sense. It's like putting a book in the freezer (Friends reference).

What a book! I enjoyed this one way more than the first three in the series. The twist at the end was amazing. Short chapters really make it interesting. 10/10 book.
