I truly enjoyed this book! At first, I was hesitant. It seemed a little slow. I am glad I forced myself to keep going! I couldn't put it down! Thank you NetGalley for this book!

Ok, I need a minute to formulate thoughts here.

I just finished this book and wanted to write the review right away because I need my emotions fresh.

Mild spoilers below.

This book is so fucking amazing. There’s absolutely nothing perfect about it. Not the story, definitely not the characters, and those imperfections make it all that much more incredible and real, because life isn’t perfect, is it? The reality is crushing sometimes, and this book crushed me. Many many times I did not agree with the MC’s actions, and no, the OW problems are not ideal (I saw some readers complaining about it) but that’s just it! Life is not ideal!!!! People make mistakes and often don’t know how to deal with intense painful situations. I think that’s the thing I liked the most about this book. There’s no sugarcoating trauma and it’s repercussions. Some things just aren’t fixable, but it doesn’t mean you can’t heal your broken pieces and find happiness in spite of everything.

I loved everything about the story but the very last dialogue is just… I don’t even know how to put it into words. It’s so subtle. It makes you notice little details you may have missed or just didn’t acknowledge as important. I finished the book with goosebumps and I’m gonna have a major hangover for a few days.

I “read” in audio, and I recommend to those who enjoy it. The narrators are very good and expressive. But I’m definitely going to really read the book because I’m sure I’m going to enjoy even more.

Definitely my favorite book of this year so far. I don’t know why I took so long to read it. Stop what you’re doing, take some tissues, a glass of wine and go read it too.

I had been waiting for this one for so long that I had actually forgotten what it was about when I started reading. I mistakenly thought it was fantasy? Or maybe WWII? So in the beginning I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Once I got comfortably in the story and realized that wasn't happening, I did enjoy it. Thought some of the relationships (as they tend to be in YA) were a little too pat and perfect. Did like that the characters were flawed and thought Nastya's voice was authentic. Would read another by this author.

I loved this book! Written in such a way that you feel every word, I could not put it down, could not stop the tears streaming down my face at times and could not recommend this book enough. It’s raw, painful and full of hurt, but also full
Of hope and rebirth.

This book was too long and needed some editing. Other than that- it was a good story...if very unlikely.
Teenage girl moves to a new school to avoid something (reader doesn't know what) avoids all contact with others- slowly befriends other loners. One boy she befriends has lost all of his family members and is lonely- he lives in a home and makes things with wood....they find each other. Along the way other characters appear and the reader slowly starts to understand Nastya's past- alongside Josh. As they piece together her past she starts to make friends and become invested in the community around her.
.....but just too long. I have no idea how this book appeared on my TBR list, but I am glad I read it. It was great, but just....kept going (repeating).

Read if you love teen romance and emo sad world.
