I had hoped in vain that this book was much more than it turned out to be. This book felt a lot more like Middle Grade than Young Adult/Teen, although I probably should've expected that due to the setting and age of the main character. However, according to other reviews, the books don't seem to mature as the series progresses unfortunately. :(

Eighth Grade Bites is a fun read that is full of clichés but an enjoyable read! I'm looking forward to seeing how the series goes!

6/10. I liked it but I am 20 and the main character is 13 so he seems quite childish at times. This isn't a huge issue, but it is pretty noticeable to me. I enjoyed the book enough to continue on the series because I like the premise but I don't feel incredibly invested.
