I was very close to giving up on this book, it starts off painfully and you don't quite know where the book is going. None the less I enjoyed and I'm glad I finished there is a point where the books becomes 'I need to see what's happening next' type.

Not my cup of Tea. Basically just a story about if the guy murdered is wife or not, sprinkled in a bit of “should we create an artificial afterlife or not? Is it ethical ?”. Such a bore and personally I don’t seek out abusive husband storylines cause they trigger me, so yeah, a bummer

Thriller meets crime meets sci-fi meets romance. Holly Cave is a tremendous writer. This is probably one of the most beautifully-written novels I've ever read. An original story with a plot that keeps you wanting to find out more. While it gets boring in some parts and starts off slow for the first half, the plot lends itself great merit in the good old: 'who was the murderer'? I wish the ending hinted at a potential romance with the detective though... or maybe it did but not obviously enough.

Isobel lives in a near-future version of London and for a job, designs personal Heavens for clients so that they can live on in a perfect place with their memories of specific events there to be relived. She gets a new client Jarek who is dying but is a handsome chap with a magnetic personality. Isobel falls for him and much soul searching ensues.

I thought that the idea behind this book was quite intriguing and I enjoyed reading the book for that aspect. However I found the narration by Isobel extremely tedious. It was overly descriptive, added very little to the plot or the character, and should have been edited out. I skipped over much of it.

What a fascinating premise but the book is more of a murder mystery than a novel about an amazing new technology. I disliked the main character and really just wanted to hurry and finish the book to find out what happened.

Death is a thing of the past, now you can chose to relive your happiest memories time and time again, but what memories would you choose?
Would this be something that is preferable to the alternative - death?
Is heaven something of your own choosing or something that is be profitable in the near future.
An interesting premise and an original concept. It is the first time i have ever come across a heaven architect!

This is a rather interesting read since the concept of the story is something new. I just hoped that there is more of a twist in the story.
