i would have liked it more if there were less characters and more depth to the stories but it was pretty good

A collection of short sexy pieces depicting many different relationships.
Great visibility for a variety of diverse lives and lifestyles (body type diversity, skin tone diversity, and more). Extra yay for including polyamory (more than once!).
I ate this so fast.
Many of the pieces would fit right in at Oh Joy Sex Toy.
I don't remember there being any recurring characters, or anything tying the stories together besides the theme, and possibly the city/setting.
A small range of illustration approaches - sometimes more shading, sometimes more contrast. All grayscale (though am I imagining some variations in the gray base tone?).
Super yummy.
To amp it up even more, i would have loved to see Maroh add some color-work here, since it was such a pivotal strength of [b: Blue is the Warmest Color|17465574|Blue Is the Warmest Color|Julie Maroh|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1373329702l/17465574._SX50_.jpg|11869600].

I cried so much reading this book. The illustrations are beautiful and include so much minority representation - queerness, gender nonconformity, interracial relationships, people of all ages. It’s beautiful and touching and very poignant.

The artistry is masterful, Maroh is able to covey so much emotion and action, and the scene-setting was perhaps my favorite part. Drawing focus to and away from specific components in a scene, simply wonderful! I also love the idea of bringing the diversity of love, sex and romance across all facets of humanity to light. It's 21 snippets of various people's lives, and while some of this short stories I thought were well suited to this format, I think I would have appreciated a few longer ones as some stories felt too short to be fully developed or communicate any kind of real message.

there are a couple winners in this collection, but mostly the stories aren’t very insightful or interesting. the intro promises weirdness, queerness, transness, and more, but only occasionally delivers in any meaningful way. also, i found many of the illustrations unpleasant to look at.
