My book club of all women keeps choosing books by douchy men who think they've got the golden ticket to figuring this whole life thing out.🤢

Beautiful, a quick and inspiring read.  The perennial religion is loving-compassion.

This book was introduced to me by BTS. And I so glad it did because it is a very inspirational one, making you think about your brain and heart and seeing every emotion from a medical perspective and through someone's point of view.
James' story is one very harsh, very strong and very interesting, seeing him trying to open his heart, soul and mind and recovering after losing his way.

I didn't enjoy the mix of an autobiography/novel.

My expectation was this book gonna be more scientific because the author mentioned his profession as a neurosurgeon in the title. But turns out it's more like meditation & manifesting guides and auto-biography. I was expecting more explanation about how manifesting and meditation can help people to get what they want, how it works in our brain, and its correlation with our heart.

Anyway, I like the part about Ruth's Tricks and the mnemonic 'CDEFGHIJKL'. I also love his writing, it feels dramatic (for a non-fiction book) but not too much.

i read this book because of bts. magic shop is one of my favourite songs, it brings me a lot of comfort, as did this book.

it’s never too late to change and open your heart, it’s never too late to reinvent your life and show compassion.
