FINALLY!!!!! — those of you who have read this book know exactly what i’m talking about.

i’m firmly on this train now. this series is funny, scorchingly hot, dramatic, and with a ✨underlying mystery✨ to tie it all together. i truly didn’t think i’d be a reverse harem kind of girl and now there is real fear in my heart that there may be no going back. this is a gateway drug and i must have skipped that day we went over it in DARE.

5/5 STARS

Ok this book was heading for a low 4 stars because it seemed to be dragging and then that ending happened and I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!!!

I was getting a little bored with the speed of this book, Elise is literally the worst detective in the world!!

The book starts out with Elise and Dante escaping Ryder and Felix at the club, and Dante finding out that Felix made a deal with Ryder - to have Ryder kill Dante.

Then almost the whole book is more of the same as the previous book - Elise has sex with all 4 of them
Dante and Leon
Lion alone
Ryder and Leon
Gabriel
Ryder and Dante

*spoilers ahead*

All while kinda still searching for who the “King” is and if this Black Card organization had anything to do with Elise’s brothers death. There were cute scenes with Leon taking Elise home to meet his family. The 5 of them all go to Zodiac academy for a week and they meet Orion and the Heirs which was fun to read. Then Elise finally tells them all who she really is and Leon can’t handle the truth and looses it - he’s heartbroken - yells, screams, runs off and is horrible! They loose the pitball match, Leon stops speaking to everyone. Elise feels horrible but he refuses to talk to her.

Then that ending happens! They are confronting the King , everything seems to be going really well and it looks like they might actually take him down. But of course things don’t always go as planned, Elise gets caught in a fume of Killblaze Which disorients her after she saves Eugene. She gets captured by professor Nightshade in the tunnels, Ryder is the first to come save her, then everyone else is there it shows up to help. It’s quite the battle everyone is getting hurt, Gabriel breaks his wings, Dante is caught in Vines, Leon gets stabbed in the chest and DIES!!! Ryder distracts the professor enough for the, to finally get the upper hand and they kill Nightshade. Then as they are morning Leon, Dante zaps him with his Dragon electricity and it starts his heart again - I seriously thought he was not coming back from that!

So yay everyone is fine they kind of sort of defeated the bad guy or at least one part of the bad guy. While they were out in the forest both Leon and Elise get the “call” and find themselves in a fog and find out they are Elysian Mates!!! WHAT

Hmm mixed feelings on this book. More 3.5 star vibes. The first 70% had little action and slow moving, unlike the first two book in the series. During this portion, it was nice to see the development of Elise’s relationship with each of the boys. I felt like some parts got a bit repetitive at times and the book could have been shorter without the repetition. For the last 30% of the book, I couldn’t put it down. Filled with action and romance and thrill. I think this was my least favorite of the series so far in the plot area but definitely had the best spice out of the first three books. Currently taking a break from the series and I’ll revisit to finish up the last couple books.
