Howl For It is 2 books/novellas in one.

The first Book/novella is: Like a Wolf with a Bone by Shelley Laurenston

I wasn't sure at first ... this was set in the South and all of the Characters male Smith's had Ray as their 2nd first name or middle name (it is unclear which it is) & the Lewis sisters were all "first name" Mae's.

That said even the character written to be the least endearing will work his way into your heart.

Eggie Ray and Darla Mae were born for each other. Eggie Ray is more Wolf than man and Darla Mae is a pacifist Werewolf. Despite the fact that Eggie Ray would just as soon kill you as talk to you they seem to work ... maybe Darla Mae's amazing pies help as well.

There was action, strife, crazy families coming together (again! ) ... this book was fun to read.

Wed or Dead by Cynthia Eden is the second of the books/novellas.

This was my first Cynthia Eden book/story and it was good! It took me a few chapters to get into to it but in the end it was worth the effort!

Give this book a try if you want a good set of paranormal romance books/stories!

I volunteered to read the book as an Advanced reader copy and now I am writing my honest review of the book.

This book contains two wolf-shifter stories by Shelly Laurenston and Cynthia Eden. I bought it because I enjoy Shelly Laurenston’s Pride series (also her dragon series as G.A. Aiken).

In Like a Wolf With a Bone by Shelly Laurenston we learn the story of how Eggie and Darla Smith (Dee-Ann’s parents from Big Bad Beast (Pride, #6) ) got together. Egbert “Eggie” Ray Smith has a reputation even among his own kin of being slightly psychotic. Darla Lewis is the “quiet” Lewis sister. But there is someone for everyone and for Eggie its Darla. Darla gets the monosyllabic Eggie to open up if only to her and Eggie finds the one person on the planet who isn’t afraid of him.

The only book I’ve read by Cynthia Eden up till now is Hotter After Midnight and to be honest I don’t remember it all that well. I guess I need to go back and re-read it. The second story in this book is Wed or Dead by Cynthia Eden in which we find the alpha wolf-shifter of the Las Vegas pack, Gage, marrying a human hunter, Kayla. She knows he is a wolf-shifter but thinks he doesn’t know she is a hunter. It all started out as a job for her. Get close to Gage then kill him only she didn’t count on falling for the big lug.

As I said at the beginning I bought this for the Shelly Laurenston story and wasn’t disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised by the Cynthia Eden story.

Rating only for Like a Wolf With a Bone by Shelly Laurenston.

Not Laurenston at her best in my opinion, but very good nonetheless. Eggie is just one in a kind ;)

Like A Wolf With a Bone ... Laurenston
1974 ... Egbert "Eggie" Ray Smith and Darla Mae Lewis ... oh my, how could you NOT like a story with characters with names like these.

Eggie is the biggest, baddest (Marine) Smith and Darla Mae is over her sisters (and Smith BIL) drama. Both find themselves back home by boss mandated "vacations". Darla is distracted and ends up attacked by human "hunters". Eggie rescues her and wisks her away to his base to get her treated. He then takes her home to his house for her recovery.

What a great short story!!

Wed or Dead ... Eden
This was a first read for me for this author. I really liked it. Gage & Kayla are getting married, but both are going into it with HUGE secrets. He's a wolf shifter & she's a hunter. It only gets better from there.

LOVE that we got Eggie's story! I seriously love Shelly Laurenston so freaking much. Darla wasn't my favorite female character but I do like how she handled Eggie. He was a big ol softy. I loved him. This book also had a novella from Cynthia Eden, Wed or dead. I'll be honest.. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as I did the first story. But to be fair I have read all of Laurenston's Pride series and I went into it super excited because I already knew the characters. And I haven't read any of Eden's series. So Maybe I would have liked it more if I would have read ore of her works. But still a good story.

I loved the first story. Both Darla and Eggie were great characters.
The second story was a bit harder for me to get into. Maybe it was because I was still stuck in the first world. Still it was an okay read.
